Badlands
Demon Bear's Domain: The Demon Bear enslaves Tom Corsi and Sharon Friedlander. In the ensuing conflict, the creature darkens the land and attempts to enslave Amara. Illyana rescues her teammate. Rahne divines the Demon Bear's weakness from Dani. Illyana cleaves the creature in two, freeing William and Peg Lonestar. All return to Mid-County Hospital.
Mid-County Medical Centre: Dani is saved but paralysed. Charles Xavier dispatches Ororo Munroe and the Healer to Mid-County Hospital. The Healer works his power upon Dani's injuries, and the Cheyenne is reunited with William and Peg. Moira MacTaggert transports Tom and Sharon to Muir Island.
NOTES: The exact nature of the Demon Bear's domain is unclear. It is vaguely described as "a virgin America, untouched by the white invaders from across the sea [...] pure, unspoiled [...] rich with [magical] power". Where the bear's shadow falls, "day becomes [cold] night", and the creature's strength increases.
