At some point before the events of this story, Lee Forrester takes up residence at Erik Lehnsherr's Bermuda fortress. She retrieves Erik from hospital. Friedrich von Roehm nominates Selene as a potential Black Queen.

New York City: Sebastian Shaw inducts Selene and Emmanuel da Costa into the inner circle.

Salem Centre: Peter Rasputin plays chess with Harry Morrel at the Hideaway. Roberto da Costa seeks refuge at the saloon. Peter attempts to comfort him. Roberto is overcome by his newfound shadow power. He attacks Peter.

Xavier's School: Charles rouses Dani and Sam. He dispatches them to Harry's Hideaway.

Salem Centre: Peter and Roberto fight to exhaustion. Dani and Sam return them to Xavier's School.

Bermuda: Lee Forrester restores Erik to his island fortress.

Xavier's School: Charles and Moira examine Peter and Roberto.Dani learns of Rahne's absence.

New York City: Dani and Sam retrieve Rahne from the Regency Hotel.

Xavier's School: Dani observes Tandy's neckless. Sam urges Dani to speak with Charles. Dani relates her dream. A newspaper article alerts the teammates to the whereabouts of Tandy and Tyrone.

New York City: Dani and Sam confront Tandy Bowen and Tyrone Johnson at Manhattan's Roosevelt Hospital. Tandy and Tyrone refuse to aid Rahne and Roberto.

Xavier's School: Roberto is again overcome by Tyrone's power. He consumes Peter and renders Charles unconscious.

NOTES: Erik Lehnsherr is prone to seasickness. On Muir Island, Tom Corsi and Sharon Friedlander have recovered from the influence of the Demon Bear but remain trapped in Native American bodies.
