The Shadow Within

At some point before the events of this story, Selene strikes out for New York. Moira MacTaggert visits Xavier's School to assist Charles in his study of Warlock.

Xavier's School: Kurt Wagner oversees Sam Guthrie in the Danger Room. He attempts to befriend Rahne, who flees to her room. Roberto da Costa spars with Peter Rasputin. He manifests Tyrone Johnson's power and injures Peter. Charles and Moira examine Warlock.

New York: Selene meets with Friedrich von Roehm. Friedrich alerts her to the existence of the Hellfire Club. At the Hellfire Club, Emmanuel da Costa is prepared for his initiation into the inner circle.

Xavier's School: Roberto attempts to impress Amara. Rahne composes a fairy tale, during which she manifests Tandy Bowen's power. She departs for New York.

New York: Rahne assaults Tandy and Tyrone Johnson at the Lincoln Centre. She seizes Tandy's necklace and enters a the Regency Hotel. Tandy and Tyrone are hospitalised. They are treated for shock.

Xavier's School: Roberto departs for Harry's Hideaway. Dani experiences Rahne's activities as a dream.

NOTES: Sam is afraid of heights. Charles can read Warlock's mind but has difficulty comprehending the metamorph's thoughts. Dani owns a pony called Starbow. Peg Lonestar is particular about grammar. Rahne secretly writes fiction. Charles suspects that Amara's intelligence equals Kitty Pryde's. The New Mutains maintain good relations with the students of Salem Central High School.
