Slumber Party!
At some point before the events of this story, Charles Xavier suggests to the New Mutants that they invite friends to stay over at the mansion. Dani is released from hospital.
Xavier's School: Illyana instigates a slumber party. A number of young women from Salem Central High attend.
Space: Warlock collides with Asteriod M. He enters Earth's atmosphere.
Xavier's School: Warlock strikes Breakstone Lake. Sam recovers him from the waters. He and Roberto place the alien in the school laboratory. Warlock awakens and goes in search of a power source. After several violent encounters with the alien, the New Mutants summon Doug Ramsey. Doug is revealed to be a mutant. He establishes friendly relations with Warlock. Later, Charles returns. He inducts Warlock into the New Mutants.
NOTES: Louise Simonson cameos. William and Peg Lonestar own a buffalo ranch. A Salem Central High student remarks that adolescents from the town have not previously been permitted to visit Xavier's School. Rahne was bullied at school. Roberto supports the New York Mets; Sam, the New York Yankees. Sam's father favoured Mickie Mantle, and his grandfather, Joe DiMaggio. Emmanuel da Costa took the young Roberto to soccer matches and theatre performances. Sam is a science-fiction fan with a preference for Robert Heilein. He is reading Door into Shadow. The title of Stranger in a Strange Land is referenced twice in this issue, once by Amara, and once by Dani. Sam is considering leaving the Xavier Institute.
